Guest Guide

Guests are callers who join a session hosted by a Vidivo host. You do not need to create an account — just a link and a credit card.

Vidivo is designed so that guests (clients, students, patients) can join a call with zero friction:

  • No app download
  • No account registration
  • Works in any modern browser on desktop or mobile
  • Only a credit card is needed
  1. Open your call link

Your host will send you a link, for example:

    https://vidivo.app/c/abc123

Click the link — it will open in your browser. If you are on mobile, the link opens in your mobile browser.

  2. Enter your name (optional)

You can enter a display name so the host knows who you are, or remain anonymous.

  3. Enter your payment details

Enter your credit card details. Your card is processed by Stripe — Vidivo never sees your raw card number.

  4. Allow camera and microphone access

Click Allow when your browser asks for camera and microphone permissions. This is required to participate in the video call.

    • On Chrome/Edge: A small icon appears in the address bar — click Allow
    • On Firefox: A popup appears at the top of the window — click Allow
    • On Safari: A system dialog appears — click Allow
  5. Wait for the host

If the host has not yet joined, you will see a waiting screen. The call — and billing — begins only when both parties are connected.

  6. Talk to your host

Your call is live. You can see your current call duration and estimated cost in the on-screen display.

  7. End the call

Click the End Call button to hang up, or wait for your host to end the session. You can end the call at any time.

Vidivo uses per-minute billing with a time-window model. Here is what that means in practice:

What happensWhen it happens
Hold placed for Window 1Before the call starts
Window 1 captured (charged)At the end of Window 1
Hold placed for Window 260 seconds before Window 1 ends
Final partial window capturedWhen the call ends
Unused holds releasedImmediately after call ends

Example: Host charges $2.00/min with a 10-minute window.

  • You speak for 7 minutes and 30 seconds
  • Hold placed: $20.00 (10 min × $2.00)
  • Call ends at 7.5 minutes
  • Captured: $16.00 (8 minutes, rounded up × $2.00)
  • Released: $4.00 (remaining hold)
  • You are charged $16.00
  • Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover
  • Debit cards with Visa/Mastercard logo
  • Most international cards supported

After the call ends, a receipt is sent to the email address you provided (if any). Receipts are also available at your call link URL for 30 days after the session.

  • Microphone: Any built-in or USB microphone. A headset reduces echo.
  • Speakers/Headset: Use headphones to prevent audio feedback.
  • Your video and audio never pass through Vidivo servers. All media travels directly between your browser and the host’s browser (peer-to-peer) using WebRTC.
  • Calls are encrypted using DTLS-SRTP (the same technology used by secure phone calls).
  • Your card data never touches Vidivo servers. Payment is handled entirely by Stripe via their Stripe Elements SDK.
  • Vidivo does not record calls. No video or audio is stored.
  1. Check that you clicked Allow when the browser asked for permissions.
  2. In Chrome: Open Settings → Privacy and Security → Site Settings → Camera/Microphone and ensure vidivo.app is allowed.
  3. Check that another application is not already using your camera (Zoom, Teams, etc.).
  4. Try refreshing the page and clicking Allow again.
  1. Move closer to your WiFi router or switch to a wired connection.
  2. Close other browser tabs and applications using bandwidth (video streaming, downloads).
  3. Ask the host if they are experiencing the same issue — it may be on their end.
  1. Ensure JavaScript is enabled in your browser.
  2. Disable browser extensions that may block scripts (ad blockers, script blockers).
  3. Try opening the link in an incognito/private window.
  1. Ensure you have sufficient funds for the first billing window.
  2. Check that your card supports online international transactions.
  3. Contact your bank if the issue persists — some banks block automated holds.

For urgent issues during a call, use the in-call chat to message your host. For billing disputes or refund requests, contact support@vidivo.app with your session reference number.
